Traveling new paths is not just an attitude. It can also become the goal of those who have been producing bicycles since 1906. With Rave SLR Wilier has turned his gaze towards new horizons, creating a product with two distinct souls, perfect for all-road, perfect for gravel, but united by a 'incredible racing predisposition.
Wilier has always had a fixation for performance, and it is precisely this characteristic that gave life to Rave SLR. If we translate the idea of performance into concrete terms, we are referring to a light, reactive frame with racing geometries, rigid where needed.
To make the lightweight frame Wilier used the same carbon mix as the Filante SLR and Wilier 0 SLR.
To create the reactive frame, Wilier used all its experience gained in the use of technopolymers, mixing carbon with special viscoelastic fibers such as Liquid Crystal Polymer. Construction technologies borrowed from those used for Filante SLR and Wilier 0 SLR, products with excellent ride quality recognized by the most demanding professional runners.
To create the frame with balanced racing geometries, Wilier started from the racing references of the top of the range road bikes, mixing them with frame dimensions derived from endurance and gravel: all without distorting the performance objective.
A slightly higher stack and a slightly shorter reach than pure competition bikes which, combined with the available carbon monocoque handlebars are the perfect meeting point between high performance and comfort.
In addition to having a low weight, the 0-Bar and J-Bar monocoque handlebars available in the Rave SLR equipment accommodate the brake and control cables inside them, directing them inside the frame. The stem/handle combo has an essential design, with sinuous and rounded lines to guarantee maximum ergonomics of the handle and to give Rave SLR that elegance typical of high-end Wilier Triestina products.
The spacers placed between the frame head tube and the handlebars are made of highly rigid composite material, with a particular cavity dedicated to the passage of cables. They are made up of two parts so as to allow quick assembly and disassembly, without interfering with the cables that run between the handlebars and the frame.
